In many industrial biological wastewater treatment systems the performance of the microbes is reduced due to a lack of micronutrients and vitamins. The micronutrients play a key role as co-factors for microbial enzymes and thus make them work more efficiently and faster.
They also play key roles in floc formation and building blocks for metabolic growth factors. A lack of micronutrients can lead to poor floc formation which is an essential part of the activated sludge process.
Poor floc formation leads to high TSS levels in the final effluent and difficulty in dewatering the sludge.
What is BFL 6400MN?
BFL 6400MN consists of a specially formulated blend of natural sources of micronutrients, amino acids and vitamins. There are a total of 17 micronutrients including calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, boron, cobalt, selenium and zinc. It also contains nine amino acids and ten vitamins.
The addition of micronutrients can help to boost microbial activity so that the overall plant performance is improved.
The micronutrients work alongside degradative enzymes acting as co-factors which stabilise and speed enzyme reactions.
Since wastewater treatment depends on the ability of degradative enzymes produced by the microbes to efficiently degrade BOD and COD a better and faster enzyme action will improve plant performance. This helps the plant deal better with increased loading.

Directions for use.
The product as supplied as a powder so it is important that it is rehydrated before use. This is achieved by adding the required quantity of product to water in a suitable container. Apply 1 part product to a minimum of 10 parts water, stir well and dose near the influent point.
Since each application is different and has different characteristics it is important to assess it before deciding on a dosing programme.
